Hannie Rieuwerts tries to catch the light every time. From transparent subtle layers to the powerful play of intense pigments, there is so much possible with watercolor paint! Contrast and atmosphere plays an important role in all her work. A sun-drenched cityscape, patches of mist in the delicate morning light above the meadows or a vase of flowers that casts long shadows on the table. She is touched by something and she tries to capture that feeling in a painting.
Hannie Rieuwerts has a 1st degree education at the University of the Arts (HKU) in Utrecht. She is chairman and founder of IWS Holland since 2015, the largest watercolor association in the Netherlands, board member of IWS Globe (International Watercolor Society) with more than 100 member countries worldwide and Master Member of IWS World.
Hannie Rieuwerts' work has been acquired over the years by art lovers, collectors, galleries and museums from all over the world.
