Illustrator & artist Ilse Werdler was born in Utrecht in 1968, studied graphic design there and after a while she 'lived just around the corner' in De Bilt, within cycling distance of the center of Utrecht, where she likes to immerse herself in the most beautiful and nicest city in the Netherlands, as she calls it.
The love for the city is great and the source of inspiration for her somewhat fairytale and realistic pen drawings, often spherically colored with watercolor paint.
Buildings, special places and houses in and around Utrecht are the theme of her work.
In addition to these drawings, she also makes biographical drawings on commission and various works in different styles and techniques.
